Hunting in Arkansas
(Spring of 2005)

My big Eastern shot in NW Arkansas.  He had an 11 and 1/2  inch beard and 1 and 1/4inch spurs.  He gave me and Lance the slip last year, but not this time.

Lance's big eastern in NW Arkansas.  He had a 10 and 1/2  inch beard and 1 and 1/8 inch spurs.  It took two and one half hours to get him in range.

Lance's Jake taken on Sunday morning.  I called him across the river.  He made some awful sound that we had never heard--before Lance shot him..

Bubba and his bird (far right) and my two birds (center and left).  My big bird had spurs over 1 3/8 inches long and a heavy beard.  Bubbas had 1 inch spurs and a good beard. 
 

Emory and Lance and two nice birds killed on Sunday evening.  They don't look so great wet, but they were both nice birds with 1 to 1 1/8 spurs.

Bubba and his Friday bird.  Killed the day we arrived, and if I recall properly, he was the first bird killed.

Hunting in the Black Hills of South Dakota

Stan killed this nice Merriam on Monday. The next day it snowed 14 inches and it stayed on the ground for 4 days.  It sure did not help our hunting.
