Hunting on Ranger Creek Ranch in Texas
(Spring of 2003)

Three Rios that Charlie and I took one afternoon.  All three were longbeards.  It was over in about 3 seconds.  I shot two (one on the fly) and Charlie shot one making his exit on foot.

My biggest Rio of the trip (first day bird).  He had 1 3/16 spurs and a 10 1/4 inch beard.  We did not weigh him.  You can tell he had some good hooks.  He is hanging by them!

Charlie with the longbeard he got on the first day of the hunt.  It was a really good bird.  It had 1 inch. spurs if I recall correctly.

We killed 10 birds in 3 days, and 7 of them were longbeards.  Charlie got two longbeards, I got three, Ronnie got 2 and Ed was "Jake Man."  He got three jakes.  Ed and Ronnie B. took no pictures of their birds.

Hunting on Tiny Bell Plantation
and Four Oaks Farm in Georgia
(Spring of 2003)

My GA longbeard taken on Ed's farm in Georgia.  He had a 10 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs.  I called him in to me by calling his hens.

My GA Jake that Ed and I took on a friend's place near Pine Mountain, GA.  I did not know he was a jake when I shot him, but I felt no remorse when I found out.

Tiny Bell longbeard that Emory and I called up.  He got the shot!  There were 3 longbeards, but I could not see them until Emory shot.  He planned it that way!

Hunting in Arkansas
(Spring of 2003)

My Pottsville longbeard that I killed on my place.  He had only 3/4 inch spurs, but a rope for a beard.  His beard was 11 inches.

The Arkansas jake that I killed at my place in NW Arkansas.  It was the first turkey I killed on that place and I was happy to get him.

Lance and Bubba with a jake Bubba killed during our hunt in NW Arkansas.  Every time we go with Bubba, we get a bird.  Not a bad record!  Bubba knows his place and knows where the turkeys are located.
